A Candid photo is something that captures the exact moment – that millisecond when you were laughing at your bride, or the very moment when the tears roll down your cheek, when the groom is tying the thali. Its the right moment, captured at the right time, freezing the right emotions – for a lifetime. In simple terms, unposed pictures are candid pictures. Not every unposed picture becomes a candid picture. The emphasis here is on the moment and the emotions, which becomes memories to be cherished for an eternity.
We have shot in the darkest of dark temples and wedding halls so no need to worry! We will always have sufficient lights and will set up additional lighting to ensure we get amazing pictures. We are also equipped with some superb low-light performance lenses with low apertures, which helps us in such low lighting situations.

We shoot right from the Bride and the Groom getting ready until all the wedding rituals are over. For example, in a wedding, it starts from shots of Bridal make-up, jewellery, outfits, venue, decor, bride and groom getting ready, their portraits – individual and couple shots, portraits of immediate family members, guests that actively participate in the wedding, all the ceremonies & rituals – creative close-ups and documentary wide angle shots and finally, the traditional group posed pictures. In addition to this, we will consider any particular shots that the client requests and we will try our best to get all those shots. In weddings, however, one must also consider situations that may be beyond control and coverage.
We require 50% initial deposit to block the date and the rest is to be paid on the day of the shoot/event or max 2-3 days after the wedding is over. Post-processing of the images and video will begin only after the final payment is completed.
We reserve the right to withhold all the deliverables until the payment has been done in full.
We generally start booking dates six months in advance, early booking are preferred for planning purposes. In any case, is best to check on our availability because it is possible that we are available even until a week before your wedding.
Absolutely. We love travel and it adds to your wedding story. For shoots outside of Chennai, we generally ask the clients to take care of the airfare, airport transfers, local transport, and stay. We are also open to making reservations on our own which will be added to the final bill.
We deliver only edited images. From all the images we shoot during a wedding, we reject all the test shots, shots with missed focus, shots that don’t have good expressions, and any duplicates. The reason we shoot in raw is to ensure that we’re working with the best quality. Raw images require particular software to be readable, and more importantly, they are unfinished. We will not deliver unfinished work.
Good Question. We generally delivery the edited soft copies of pictures in 10-12 working days, traditional video is 14-15 working days and Cinematic Wedding films in 20-22 working days. Album design takes 14-15 working days once the client selects the pictures, and album will be delivered in 8-10 working days once the album design is approved by the client.
Shot Memories Photography reserves the copyright of all images and videos. Clients will be given printing and usage rights. We deliver a set of both low-res and high-res versions of the images. The low-res versions are meant for online display and they’re watermarked with our logo. We request you to upload only watermarked images online and it would be nice if we are tagged along the way. The high-resolution images are not watermarked and can be used for printing purposes.
Yes We do. Am sure thats how you found us on the internet. We work by referrals and social media is one of our marketing channels to attract more clients. In case, if you wish not to put your wedding pictures online, please let us know. We shall discuss something that works out for both of us.
We typically deliver 400-600 candid pictures per event. So if there is a reception and wedding, we deliver 800-1200 pictures depends on the duration of the event and the audience. In addition, there will be 400-600 traditional pictures as well. So in a typical wedding with 2 events, we deliver a total of 1200-1500 pics, which includes both candid and traditional pics.
Our Albums are neat and classy. We design it in a way that it tells your wedding story in the way it happened. Its like reliving your wedding day once again. Please drop in to our office to have a look at our sample albums to get an idea. We request 200-250 images per album. The less, the better because, it helps us to design the album thats breathable and classy.
We will do our best to support you on your big day. A typical shoot timings vary between 6 to 8 hours. That is what you would have paid for. Additional 45 mins to 1 hour is fine since we do understand that weddings are not scripted and there are a lot of things that can delay the proceedings. So we do understand. Anything more, will be charged accordingly.
Yes. We can also make the arrangements ourselves but the charges will be added in the final bill.
We feel that this is the last thing that you should be worried about. We believe that its the person behind the equipment who creates the magic. Having said that, we assure you that we use world class equipments. Some of our team members use Canon 5DM4 and few use Sony A7M3. It depends but whatever equipment we use, we make sure its the market standard.
Chennai has a number of beautiful gardens and other locations for a pre-wedding photo shoot. Depending upon your requirements, we will be able to guide you towards a the best pre-wedding locations.
There are resorts like VGP golden beach resort, Intercontinental who allow pre wedding photoshoots in chennai but they have their respective per day shooting charges. In addition, there are places like Secret Garden and Dakshin Chitra, which are also good places for a day shoot. Free options are the beaches and some scenic roads in ECR.
